Did You Know...

Human sex trafficking is the second fastest growing criminal industry in the United States, just behind drug trafficking. Approximately half of these victims are children.

Estimates show that 100,000 youth are exploited into the commercial sex industry each year in the U.S., and the average age of entry into the commercial sex industry is 13 years old.

In Ohio alone, more than 3,000 minors are at-risk for sex trafficking, and more than 1,000 are actually trafficked during the course of a year.

Ohio is prime field for exploitation for several reasons:

- an extensive highway system

- a large number of truck stops and adult strip clubs

- close proximity to an international border

- a high number of children living in poverty (24%)

Victims come from all geographic areas and all socioeconomic levels. It's in our own backyard.

Gracehaven's programs are carefully designed to most effectively meet the needs of everyone impacted by human trafficking -- from high school students learning about it, to first responders  and professionals who must interact with those who may be affected, to victims who've experienced it firsthand.
